History & Background

Tiger Leaping Gorge is one of the world's deepest gorges, with the Yangtze River (Jinsha Jiang) cutting through the Haba and Jade Dragon snow mountains. The gorge reaches depths of 3,900m from peak to river. Legend says a tiger leaped across the narrowest point to escape hunters. The hiking trail along the upper rim is considered one of the world's best treks.
