History & Background

Hefang Street recreates the atmosphere of Southern Song dynasty Hangzhou (1127-1279), when the city was the imperial capital Lin'an. The pedestrian street features traditional architecture, craft shops, and food stalls selling Hangzhou specialties. It connects to the historic Hu Qing Yu Tang pharmacy, founded in 1874.
