Lingyin Temple (Temple of the Soul's Retreat), founded in 326 AD during the Eastern Jin dynasty, is one of China's largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples. Set in forested hills west of West Lake, the temple complex includes Feilai Peak with hundreds of Buddhist cave carvings dating from the Five Dynasties to Yuan periods.
