History & Background

Yuanjiajie is the area within Zhangjiajie National Forest Park that inspired the Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar. The Southern Sky Pillar, a 1,080m quartzite peak, was officially renamed "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain" in 2010. The area features a network of cliffside paths and viewing platforms.
