History & Background

Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the world's deepest gorges, was traversed by Tea Horse Road caravans. The Yangtze River cuts through the Haba and Jade Dragon snow mountains, reaching depths of 3,900m. Legend says a tiger leaped across the narrowest point. The hiking trail along the upper rim is considered one of the world's best treks.
